Ah I am seriously loving this season of Drag Race UK! I do have to watch twice…with subtitles because half the time I don’t know what the fuck they’re saying but there’s a level of talent and hunger to win that makes this season something special. I think having 10 queens versus 15 makes it more interesting to watch. The first half of Drag Race US are always dreadful because it’s watching the battle of filler queens who are cast with have no chance of winning. I also feel the “older”, more experience queens are really delivering which I am living for.
Anyways, down to ranking these queens. I will be ranking based on runways, challenge performance, banter with RuPaul, & confessional personality.
#9 – Vinegar Strokes I love Vinegar. She delivered in the challenge, she gives great confessionals but this runway tanked her overall performance. This make up is dreadful. Her personality is undeniable, I hope she steps up her runways in the upcoming episodes. #8 – Baga Chipz So I watched this episode in the UK and let me say the UK children LOVE BAGA CHIPS. I just don’t get it. Sure the “much better” moment was funny but she forget her line, multiple times. She wasn’t prepared. And this runway was a little tacky for me. I guess it comes down to taste but I think she’s annoying and I’m all for a little extra but that yellow fur in the confessional hurts my eyes. #7 – Scaredy Kat Scaredy was my overall favourite of the season. RuPaul loves a young queen with natural talent (Adore, Violet) and I thought that she was really going to go far. Not preparing her lip sync and picking the easiest role for her in the challenge isn’t a quality in a winner. Wishing her the best with her career! #6 – Sum Ting Wong Sum Ting Wong is this season’s Miss Congeniality! Calling it now. She is so fun to watch, I actually love this bald runway however her challenge performance wasn’t the strongest. That American accent was…no existent. I hope some stars align for Sum Ting! #5 – Divina De Campo I thought Divina would be the next Willam in the sense that she has such an established career outside of the show. However, the difference between Willam and Divina is confidence…which Divina severely lacks. I thought Divina had a sure shot to the top 3 however I do think we will see her leaving sooner than later. #4 – Blu Hydrangea Oh Blu I love you! Blu’s head isn’t in the game and it shows, however this runway shows she is talented and has what it takes to win. It’s sad to see a talented queen get torn down by the competition. We saw this with Mayhem Miller in the US version. I hope Blu can snap out of it and step up in the challenges, cause this runway was 100! #3 – Cheryl Hole Say what you want about Cheryl but she is giving us GOOD TV! Sure she might be a little delusional but in my opinion that is a quality of a great reality TV personality! Sure this runway isn’t the strongest but come on the I AM A STAR confessional and the forced tongue pops, I STAN! #2 – The Vivienne The Vivienne is my winner pick. I love that she shades Cheryl at every turn. Her look is polished and I think her level of focus will take her to the final 3. I am worried she comes across cold and depending on how the winner is picked in the final 3, I can see her losing the fan vote. Overall I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE VIVIENNE. #1 – Crystal Beth CRYSTAL! The trade of the season. I can’t wait to get drunk after a viewing party and slide into his DMs, I just think he’s so cute. This look separated Crystal from the pact. Crystal is a dark horse of the competition. I think she can edge out some front runners (Divina, Baga) to get a spot in the final. I also wonder how Crystal would do on the Drag Race Canada. I do hope they have her host a mini challenge or be a guest to act with in a main challenge. GOTTA STAN OUR CANADIAN QUEENS.
